Doing my part to support grassroots football

I try to keep work and personal life separate, but this is different. I’m delighted to be sponsoring my daughter’s football team, Crosspool Girls FC under 14’s, for the next couple of years.

Saturday mornings are officially back to early starts (some weeks), wrapping up warm, and clutching a coffee on the touchline. We'll soon be crossing over from late summer sunshine to rain, hail, wind, and everything in between, but watching the enthusiasm the girls' have each week always makes it beyond worth it.

A few months ago, while writing a branding brief for the immensely talented designer Lisa Maltby, I wrote this note. It’s lovely looking back on it now.

"Setting up Calm Delivery and doing things my own way is important. To have the opportunity to sponsor my daughter’s football team/kit for the next two seasons is super special. I don’t want anyone to look at the shirts and wonder if they’re sponsored by a delivery company, so maybe the focus is on the word ‘Calm’?"

As a parent watching my daughter play a game she genuinely loves, it’s a brilliant feeling. Seeing her and the rest of the team running out with 'Calm' on the front of their shirts is a super proud moment.

The new kits look fantastic and I couldn’t be happier to support them.

Good luck for the season, girls.
