A structured and honest look at how your teams actually work

Complex organisations often suffer from delivery noise. When priorities compete and governance feels heavy, it’s hard to tell why projects are slowing down or why teams are feeling the strain.

The review is a fixed-price, 4-week engagement designed for large organisations (like Universities, Government Departments, and established large-scale private businesses) to identify exactly what’s helping your teams succeed and what’s quietly getting in their way.

What this includes

By joining your organisation as a quiet observer and expert peer, this approach facilitates a deep-dive review across selected service teams.

  • Observations: Joining stand-ups, retros, and planning sessions to see the culture in action.

  • Mapping the path to production: Documenting the journey from initial idea to live release to highlight where work actually happens (and where it gets stuck).

  • Spotting blockers: Interviewing DMs, Product Leads, and engineers to find the bottlenecks (Governance, Tech Debt, or Process).

  • Governance health check: An honest look at whether your reporting cycles are adding value or just adding weight.

No 50-page slide decks that nobody reads. Instead, you get actionable and usable outputs:

  1. Where work gets stuck: A clear look at any traps and delays in your current process, identifying the 3 or 4 main reasons things aren't moving as fast as they could.

  2. A report on what’s working well: A summary of practices and wins that should be celebrated and scaled.

  3. A pragmatic action plan: 5–10 practical interventions you can use immediately to improve delivery and team morale.

  4. Shared weeknotes: A transparent, ongoing record of my findings shared out in the open to build trust across people, teams and the organisation.

  • Format: Remote-first, with 1–2 days on-site for deep-dive workshops (ideal for Sheffield-based or UK-wide teams)
